Jul 5, 2018Amazon Prime Day is an annual one-day blow-out sale that will be taking place on 16th, July, 2018 for a total of 36 hours! To put it simply, it is the Black Friday in July, with flash sales, doorbusters, and a truly overwhelming range of deals throughout the month. The event first debuted on 15th, July, 2015, for the purpose of celebrating Amazon’s 20th birthday. The company describes it as an international shopping affair, giving out more deals than Black Friday, specifically for Amazon Prime members.

It is important to note that Amazon Prime Day is exclusive to Prime members only, who not only benefit from free 2-day shipping on Amazon orders but are also given access to a variety of Prime rewards and programs. Amazon offers a 30-day trial period, so if you are not yet a member but wish to benefit from the Prime Day 2018, you can start your membership for the month of July. The monthly charge is $12.99. Becoming a member will also allow you access to Prime Now, TV, books, music, and movies from Prime Video, Prime Reading, and Amazon Music.
Perhaps the best news is that Prime Day deals homepage this year will be way more user-friendly, making it easier for all of us to dig up deals and products that we are interested in.
This year, the event will be featuring 50% more Spotlight Deals as well as over a million deals internationally. Prime members will enjoy the most lucrative deals yet on Alexa-enabled products, like Fire tablets, Echo, and Fire TV. Whole Foods will also be joining the celebration this year and will be offering fantastic deals all over US stores. Another new feature this year is the ability of members to shop Prime Day Launches – unlimited new items, special-edition and content items from countless, well-known and infant brands.
The company will also be offering exclusive content and products that will only be reserved for Prime members only. These products and deals include new blankets and throw pillows from Amazon’s in-house furniture brands like Stone & Beam and Rivet.
Last but not least, Amazon also launched two of its new online stores recently. It’s Off to College hub is designed for everything from laptops to small kitchen tools, while its Back to School hub caters to kindergartners through 12th grade students.
Remember that there will be thousands of discounts and deals taking place on Amazon Prime Day 2018 and not every shopper is going to be a winner.
