How much time does the package consolidation process take?

Package consolidation can take up to 2-4 business days. Number of packages in the consolidation and seasonality can affect processing time.

What is Stackry’s re-packing service and can it help me save on shipping costs?

U.S. domestic shipments from retailers arriving at Stackry are often packed in oversized boxes with empty space. The cost of shipping an oversized box internationally can increase signficantly due to the limited amount of space available via air freight. Stackry’s re-packing service is designed to help solve this problem and save on international shipping.

Stackry’s expert operations team will inspect your original retailer package and re-pack to a smaller, more cost effective package or add protection. The cost for this service is $5 per re-pack. If re-packing does not produce savings on shipping cost or add protection, Stackry will refund the $5 cost.

What is package consolidation and how does this service help save on shipping costs?

The concept is simple, the savings are BIG! Shop at any U.S. retailer and ship one or multiple packages to your Stackry U.S. address. Stackry will hold each package in your locker for up to 45 days for FREE. When you’re done shopping and ready to ship, login to your Stackry account, choose your items and Stackry’s expert team will consolidate them into one more cost effective shipment. Stackry charges $2 per package consolidated, with a $25 cap per consolidation.

Are duties and taxes included in Stackry’s shipping price?

Stackry shipping costs do not include additional taxes.

Where can I find my Stackry U.S. address?

Sign up for a FREE Stackry account. Stackry will immediately email a confirmation with your new U.S. address. After signing up, you can also login to your Stackry dashboard at stackry.com, where your U.S. address will appear on the main page.

How do I sign up for a free Stackry account and U.S. address?

Visit Stackry’s sign up page and complete the registration form. Sign up is FREE and so is our membership.

How do I use Stackry’s service after signing up?

New clients receive a U.S. address at Stackry’s secure operations center immediatly after signing up. Simply enter that U.S. address in the shipping section at checkout for any U.S. retailer, complete your purchase, and Stackry will notify you via email whenever a package arrives in your locker. We’ll even include a FREE photo of each package!

Are there specific items that Stackry won’t ship?

See Stackry’s Prohibited Items page for more information, and contact Stackry support if you have questions about a specific item before you ship to Stackry.

Stackry prohibits any items which are prohibited by any laws, regulations, or statutes of any federal, state, or local government of any country through which the shipment may be carried. Any items that would require Stackry to obtain a special license to transport the shipment are also prohibited. Finally, Stackry prohibits items that would damage equipment, personnel, or other packages.

Can Stackry ship lithium batteries?

Typically yes, but due to the highly flammable nature of lithium batteries they are heavily regulated, specifically for air transport. Many factors play a role in if and how lithium batteries can be shipped, including their size, how they are packaged and country of destination. What is Hazmat and how do I know if it is contained in my items?

“Hazmat,” short for hazardous materials, refers to substances or items that pose a risk to health, safety, property, or the environment. At Stackry, we prioritize safety, and our team is fully trained in identifying hazmat when it arrives at our operations center. Depending on country and/or carrier hazmat restrictions, items including but not limited to lithium batteries, perfumes, aerosols, and some cosmetics may be considered hazmat. Hazmat shipments require special handling and an additional processing cost of $12.50 per package.

Before shipping any items you believe may contain hazmat, please check Stackry’s hazmat guidelines or contact Stackry support.

What is the difference between a Prohibited Item and Hazmat?

If the Stackry operations team determines that an item is classified as “Hazmat,” in many cases the items can be shipped, but typically with restrictions. Hazmat type and country of destination play a role in these restrictions. Hazmat also requires special handling and an additional processing cost of $12.50 per package. If the Stackry operations team determines that an item is classified as “Prohibited,” Stackry will not ship the item forward under any circumstance. The only option for these types of items are to use Stackry’s return service or to request that the item be disposed. Amazon sent me a One Time Password to confirm package delivery. What should I do?

Amazon has added an extra layer of security confirming delivery of certain high value items. If your item falls into this category, Amazon will send the customer a six digit One Time Password (OTP). Stackry will need to show an Amazon driver this 6 digit code to receive the package. If you receive a high value package OTP from Amazon, please reach out to Stackry customer support with this code immediately upon receiving it.

How long does it take for an Information or additional photo request to be completed?

Information & photo requests are completed the same or following business day (M-F).

A U.S. retailer has shipped my purchase(s) to Stackry; tracking shows delivery but the items are not in my locker. What should I do?

Packages are checked into client lockers on the same business day if received during business hours (9am-5pm EST). If retailer tracking shows delivery, it may still be a few hours withing the same business day before a package is checked in. If the business day has ended and a tracked package is not in your locker, contact Stackry support. Most receiving delays are caused due to a missing locker/unit number in address line 2 of the retailer’s mailing label. Stackry support will work with clients to help track down the item.

Does Stackry take photos of my package?

Stackry automatically sends clients one FREE photo of an unopened package taken at check-in. Additional photos can be taken at a cost of $4 for the first photo, $1 for each additional photo (per package).

Does Stackry charge storage fees?

Stackry will store your items FREE of charge for up to 45 days. Stackry clients often use our free storage to hold multiple items and then consolidate to a single package, maximizing savings on international shipping.

After 45 days, Stackry will charge .08 cents per pound, per day in storage fees.

After 60 days, packages will be disposed of or donated without incurring any liability to you or any other party whatsoever.

Does Stackry open my packages?

Yes. Stackry opens all packages to inspect the contents for damage, dangerous goods and prohibited or restricted items. Stackry customers can rest assured knowing that their items are inspected for damage before leaving the U.S., and handled and prepared appropriately for international transport.

Will Stackry accept First Class Mail on my behalf?

No. Stackry only accepts trackable mail items.

How long does it take Stackry to check in my package after receiving it?

Stackry checks in packages Monday – Friday (business days). Packages received during operations center business hours (9am-5pm EST) are checked in same day. Packages received after 5pm EST are checked in the next business day.

How will I know when one of my packages arrives at Stackry?

Stackry emails customers once a package is checked in at our secure operations center. Login to Stackry after receiving notification and view a photo of your package, enter customs information, re-pack or consolidate.

Does Stackry charge clients package receiving fees?

No. Stackry does not charge clients when we receive a package.

How does Stackry’s refer-a-friend program work?

Stackry’s refer-a-friend program enables existing clients to share a unique referral link. When a referral completes their first shipment, they get a $10 Stackry shipping credit. The referrer also gets $10 in Stackry credit toward a future shipment.

How do I file a damage claim and how does the process work?

What is a Stackry Credit?

Stackry Credit is a credited dollar amount added to a client account that can be used toward shipping costs at checkout. One example of a Stackry Credit is $10 earned through Stackry’s refer-a-friend program. If you have a Stackry Credit it will be listed on your dashboard.

Does Stackry insure my shipment?

Yes. Stackry offers FREE insurance (Stackry Shipment Value Protection) for every shipment up to $100 in declared value. Additional insurance can be purchased for $5 per $100 in declared value (minimum $10 purchase).

Where does Stackry ship?

Stackry ships to destinations worldwide. Estimate shipping costs by entering your destination country/territory and package weight and dimensions on Stackry’s shipping calculator. If your country/territory does not appear, contact Stackry support for a shipping quote.

Can I use my own prepaid shipping label to ship a package out from Stackry?

No. Stackry does not allow the use of third party shipping labels. Customers must use a Stackry provided carrier for all outgoing shipments

What is the estimated delivery time for my shipment and how can I track it?

Delivery time varies by location, international shipping carrier and service level (express, priority, etc…).Express delivery arrives in as little as 3 business days.

Stackry will provide the carrier’s tracking number for your international shipment.

What is dimensional weight and why does it matter?

When shipping internationally, carriers calculate the cost based on both the weight and size of the package. Carriers charge for whichever is higher between the scale weight and the space the package takes up on an airplane. If your package is large but not very heavy, you may be charged based on its size (dimensional weight).

Dimensional weight is calculated by multiplying the length by width by height of each package in inches or centimeters and dividing by a dimensional weight factor. The dimensional weight factor varies by service offering and unit of measure (in or cm).

Stackry’s partner carriers DHL, FedEx and DHL Global Mail all use a dimensional weight factor of 166. The United States Postal Service (USPS) and FedEx Connect do not use dimensional weight to calculate the final price of shipping.

When dimensional weight exceeds scale weight, shipments are charged according to the dimensional weight.

Which shipping carriers does Stackry work with?

Stackry customers can ship with DHL, FedEx, Aramex and the U.S. Postal Service. See Stackry’s international shipping options page for more detail on service levels.

What modes of transportation does Stackry offer for international shipping?

Stackry’s carriers offers options for air service worldwide and ground service to Canada. We do not offer options for sea or ocean freight service.

Do any U.S. retailers block shipments to package forwarders like Stackry?

Some Stackry clients have reported experiences where specific retailers canceled shipments or restricted purchases when a Stackry locker was used as the shipping address. See Stackry’s Retailer Challenges page for more information.

How does Stackry help me save on U.S. Sales Tax?

Stackry’s operations center and, by extension, every Stackry client’s U.S. address, is located in the U.S. State of New Hampshire. New Hampshire is one of only five U.S. states that does not charge sales tax on retail goods. Sales tax is as high as 7.25% on purchases in some U.S. states.

Stackry clients who shop in the U.S. and ship to their Stackry New Hampshire address automatically enjoy the benefit of 0% sales tax on all purchases.

Does Stackry offer return service?

Yes. Clients must provide a pre-paid retailer shipping label. Stackry will charge a $7.50 processing fee per label/shipment.

Why is it important that I enter my Stackry locker number in ‘Address line 2’ at U.S. retailer checkout?

‘Address line 1’ is the same for all Stackry clients. ‘Address line 2’ is the unique identifier that matches a client’s item to their unique locker at Stackry. Shipments received at Stackry without ‘Address line 2’ may be delayed at check-in and incur an additional Incomplete Address Fee of $5 to cover time spent researching and matching a package to a client locker.
